Government wants to provide maximum facilitation to media: Furrukh

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib has said President Arif Alvi, in his address to the joint sitting of the Parliament, effectively presented Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf ‘s strategy to confront challenges faced by the country.

In a series of tweets, he said the President also reaffirmed his commitment to continue country’s successful foreign policy, peace in Afghanistan and unwavering support for Kashmir cause.

Talking to a private news channel, the Minister of State for Information said the government wants to provide maximum facilitation to media through Pakistan Media Development Authority.

He said some miscreants are trying to spread disinformation about the PMDA for their vested interests.

The Minister said an independent media commission would be part of the PMDA to address the issues of media persons, specially related to wages to protect media workers.

Meanwhile, talking to a private news channel, Farrukh Habib has said the government wants to provide maximum facilitation to media through Pakistan Media Development Authority.

He said some miscreants are trying to spread disinformation about the PMDA for their vested interests.

The Minister said an independent media commission would be part of the PMDA to address the issues of media persons, specially related to wages to protect media workers.

He said the government has invited all the stakeholders to settle down the pending discrepancies and to establish the PMDA together.

He said authority would have a check on the authenticity of the news and in case of any violation, a heavy fine would be imposed on the media organization.
