Germany to recruit Pakistan IT experts

KARACHI- Germany will recruit a substantial number of Pakistani Information Technology (IT) experts meet their demands in its fast growing economy.

“It is the first time that the German government has allowed recruitment foreigners in IT. An agreement has already been reached in principal for the recruitment of Pakistani IT experts at the private level,” said Rudolf W. Fritz, Managing Director, Federal Employment Services Central Placement Office International Department of German government in Bonn.

Talking to newsmen, he said after his discussions with Manpower Export Placement Corporation Chairman Iqbal Chishti in Bonn last week and here on October 18-19 the agreement has been reached in principle to recruit substantial number of Pakistani IT experts at the private level.

“This would have a good effect on Pakistan’s economy as they would remit money from Germany. On completion of their contract for five years or more they can return borne and serve their country”, he observed.

He said the German government facilitates recruitment of IT experts and the agreement is finalized at the private level with the respective countries, including Pakistan. Fritz said that the appointment of IT experts will be up to five years and may be extended adding technical standards of IT in Germany were similar to those in the United States. He said IT experts were also better paid than in the US. In addition, there is a protection of service by law, paid holidays of upto four weeks every year as well as benefits of social security and insurance.
