FM 101 Excellence Awards brings recognition to DJ’s

ISLAMABAD, October 04 2005: The first ever FM 101 Excellence Award-2005 held at Broadcasting House Sunday October 2 brought recognition to the creative energies and efforts of the DJ’s of FM 101. Being the architect of FM Broadcasts in the country, Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation has decided to hold the FM 101 Excellence Award every year.
Director General Pemra Haji Ahmad Malik was the chief guest on the occasion and gave away shields and certificates to the award winners.
Shiraz Kamal of CCP was present as guest of honour along with Sharif Shad, Controller Home, Executive Producer Wahid Sheikh, and other officials and artists.
A colourful potpourri of musical ensemble was also presented on the occasion. Basit Subhani, Asim Raza, Gul, Yasir Punno, and musical groups Irtash and Lahoo gave superb performances.
Before the commencement of the award ceremony, one hour was dedicated for audition new talents for FM 101 by the popular FM DJ’s themselves. A large number of aspirants took part in the special audition hour by their favourite DJ’s.
The FM 101 broadcast now reaches out to its listeners in every nook and corner of Pakistan through 8 FM Stations spread around the country. FM 101 also reaches out to international arena every night.
The award ceremony started with much excitement and anticipation among the FM talents. Awards were given to over 50 performers for their overall outstanding performances.
