EDO to supervise offal disposal

KARACHI: The disposal of offal will be taken care of by the CDGK, said City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal while visiting different areas of city to review the pace of work on under-construction roads and development projects on Sunday along with officials concerned and engineers. “The task of sanitation and removing and disposing of offal and waste at the dumping site would be supervised by EDO Municipal Services Masood Alam,” the nazim said. Kamal visited development projects and reviewed the arrangements made for Eid-ul-Azha including the work that he had instructed last week before leaving for Korea on an official visit.

Kamal had said that the citizens would not be face any hurdles on Eid as the city government along with town administrations and union councils administrations have finalized arrangements which will be better than those last year. He said the city government has initiated rapid work on all ongoing development projects and first the time in the history of Karachi, modern a storm water drain system is being laid along with all roads, bridges and flyovers. “Due to the newly installed storm water drainage system, all the water would flow into the main storm drain through this system and would not create any problems for these projects,” he added.

He also reviewed the under-construction drainage system along with Hassan Square, Karsaz and Sohrab Goth flyovers and said that earlier no one had taken it seriously to install a drainage system along with roads and bridges. “The present city government has make it compulsory to install drainage systems along with all new roads, flyovers, bridges in the future,” he mentioned. Highlighting the smooth flow of traffic on Eid, Nazim Mustafa Kamal said the city government is being completing the task of repairing all leading roads to Cattle Mandi on top priority and due to this the visitors would not face any inconvenience for the on-going development work at Sohrab Goth flyover. Kamal visited six major projects on the signal-free corridor from airport to Site industrial area.
