Design okayed for National Museum
ISLAMABAD (APP) – The design for National Museum of Pakistan has been approved which is being established here in the premises of Shakarparian to reflect the country’s cultural identity.
In this connection, a design competition was organized to encourage architects by the Department of Archaeology and Museums in collaboration with Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners (PCATP).
The prize distribution ceremony for top three designs was held here Thursday at Pakistan National Counsel of the Arts (PNCA) while the architects also gave presentations about their ideas and designs.
Minister for Culture and Tourism, G.G.Jamal and Secretary Ministry of Culture, Shahid Rafi presented cash prize of Rs.150, 000 to Architect, Yawar Abbas Jilani of ARCOP Pvt Limited Karachi for first position while second prize of Rs.l00,000 and third prize of Rs.75,000 were given to Architect Arsadullah and Nayyar Ali Dada respectively.
G.G Jamal on the occasion said that “Our country has a rich cultural heritage with great potentials for establishing a series of varied type of museums”.
