CPNE’s annual general meeting on 28th
ISLAMABAD: The annual general meeting (AGM) of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) is to be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012, a CPNE press release issued on Tuesday said.
The press release said that the AGM of the CPNE would begin at 11:00am at the Avari Hotel, Lahore, wherein the relations between the government and press will be reviewed.
The meeting will also review how free the media is. The secretary general of the CPNE will present his annual report in the meeting, while resolutions and statements to be presented by the finance secretary of the CPNE will also be reviewed.
The meeting is to discuss the matters of general interest for the members as well. The names of members for the standing committee for the current year will also be nominated in this meeting.
The committee will then elect the office bearers of the CPNE for 2012-13. The general body of the CPNE will meet at 10:30am the same morning, before the AGM, to consider and endorse the amendments recommended for the constitution of the CPNE.
Invitation have been sent to all the members of the council, while the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors has announced that the members who have not received their invitation cards can get in touch with the central secretariat of the CPNE, at 021-35620674.
