Council calls for remodelling LBOD
The council through a number of resolutions passed unanimously sought to ensure attendance of district government officers in its sessions and urged the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company to put off load-shedding at least till the end of Muharram.
The meeting chaired by Convenor Dr Zafar Kamali was unanimous in its demand for ending council members for Hajj and Umra and study tours to India.
Members Chaudhry Ahsanul Haq, Mir Zafarullah Talpur, Zafar Leghari, Ali Mardan Shah, Imtiaz Panwhar, Nawab Younus Talpur, A. D. Lakho, Jafar Kalro, Fatima Baloch and Shamim Jhandir called for implementation of the resolutions and demanded that the council should meet every month.
The convenor observed that the members should hold meetings at union council level to take measures to ensure peace by setting up peace committees and directed police to ensure law and order during the sacred month of Muharram.
