Condolence reference held for senior journalist Raja Tariq
A condolence reference was held at the Karachi Press Club on Saturday to pay homage to seasoned journalist Raja Tariq, who died of cardiac arrest recently in Karachi.
Former Daily Jang deputy chief reporter Raja Tariq died of cardiac failure at a hospital on Sunday night. He had served in the media industry for over 40 years.
Over the past seven years, he had been associated with a private news channel as a senior reporter. Besides general secretary for Crime Reporters of Pakistan (CRAP), he was also a member of the Karachi Press Club and the Karachi Union of Journalists.
KPC president Fazil Jamili, secretary Rizwan Bhatti, senior journalist and professor Tauseef Ahmed, Mehmood Shah, Anwar Sun Rai, Maqsood Yousufi, AH Khanzada, Imtiaz Khan Faran, CRAP president Sameer Qureshi and others attended the event.
His widow and daughters also attended the condolence reference. The speakers and his family members highlighted his role in journalism, saying that the late journalist had played a vital role in approving the constitution of CRAP and had been taking several steps for the welfare of the crime reporters. They said Tariq would always be remembered.
