Comsats Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) praised for promoting IT culture
ISLAMABAD- Minister for Science and Technology, Dr Ata-ur-Rehman, has appreciated the management of Comsats Institute of Information Technology for its efforts for promoting Information Technology (IT) culture in Pakistan.
He was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Comsats Institute of Information Technology Wah Cantt Camp held at the POF Auditorium.
The Minister said that a deadline of 90 days was given to Comsats to make the institute fully functional, which it met in time. He said that Comsats institutes are providing quality education and he gave the entire credit to the dynamic leadership of the institute.
The recently established institute is a joint venture of Comsats and Pakistan Ordnance Factories, and first of its kind in Wah Cantt. The institute has a modem infrastructure and highly professional teachers. The Comsats Institute of Information Technology is now fully equipped to handle the dynamics of the fast paced IT industry and to meet the challenges of the future, said Dr S M Junaid Zaidi, Rector, Comsats Institute of Information Technology, in his address of welcome.
The chief guest Prof Dr Atta-ur-Rehman assured the management of the Institute of further support from the Ministry of Science and Technology in the future. At the end of the ceremony, the minister distributed certificates among the successful officers of POF Wah who completed their Office Automation courses from CIIT Wah.
