Brothers kill sister for ‘honour’

LAHORE: A 20-year-old girl was shot dead in the name of honour in Sattukatla police precincts on Sunday. The victim was identified as Kausar, a resident of Nawab Town.

According to the police, her brothers Zaman and Shada suspected that she had an affair with her cousin. They had also warned Kausar several times but she turned a deaf ear to their advice.

On the day of incident, the brothers opened fire on Kausar, injuring her seriously. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she died.

Police have registered a case against the accused on the complaint of deceased’s father, Falak Sher, with no arrest so far. Man found dead: A 40-year-old man was found dead in Bhaati Gate police limits.

The deceased, yet to be identified, was lying dead on a footpath near Parinda Market. Some passersby spotted the body and informed the police. Police removed the body to the city morgue for an autopsy. Police suspects that the deceased was a drug addict who died of excessive use of drugs.
