Anti- govt literature banned

Peshawar: NWFP government selling and purchasing of several booklets regarding sectarian matters and contain anti-government material.

As per detail the booklets namely; Ahle Bait Aur Tahqeeq Aa1-e-Muhammad, Midat-ul­Marg, Jamhoriat Aur Intekhabat, Islami Nizam lbtadai Khaka, Zalim Ka Hath Kon Rooke Ga, leaflets namely Sayasi Ghazal, Pak Fauj Ke Jawan Ki Pukar, a hand bill Khabar Taya (Pashto versrion) has been henceforth banned for using as a readable stuff.

NWFP government has d the above mentioned booklets, leaflets, handbill as well as pamphlets and press clipping for containing sectarian, anti- government material and has ordered to confiscate to the government all its copies wherever found in the open market with immediate effect and to take necessary action against the distributors under the relevant law.

Meanwhile, the NWFP care­taker Minister for Schools and Literacy Mrs. Meraj Humayun has said that the present government is giving top most priority to the promotion of education and will bring revolutionary changes in it so that the country’s development as well as the formation of an educated society may become possible.

She said this while addressing in a briefing given to her by the high-ups of Schools and Literacy Department at Civil Secretariat Peshawar. She was briefed about the functioning, achievements as well as problems of the Schools and Literacy Departments.

She asked them to make arrangements for making a presentation to the NWFP Chief Minister regarding the Schools and Literacy Departments.

Mrs. Meraj Humayun stressed the high-ups of his department to pinpoint and give focus to such projects which could rectify the image of the Education Department and improve the education standard in the province.
