Abduction case against Nazim, son, nine others

SHEIKHUPURA, April 14,2005: City B-Division police have registered a case against district nazim, his son and nine others, under sections 364/186, 147/149, 109 PPC, on the charge of abducting the brother of an alleged rape victim while the accused have also been charged in connection with the disappearance of the victim’s other family members here on Wednesday.

An FIR lodged by Mazhar Yasin, brother of nine-year-old Bushra, the girl allegedly raped by District Nazim Tawakalullah Virk’s son Moazzam Ali Virk, sometime back, said the complainant’s sister and parents had disappeared since lodging of the rape complaint against the nazim’s son.

In the FIR, Yasin apprehended that his father Ali Sher, Mother Halima Bibi and sister Bushra had been abducted by the influential accused. He said that on April 13 (Wednesday), when he came to appear in the court, he was abducted by nazim’s henchmen, Sarfraz, Nisar, Aslam, Mansib, Aslam s/o Atta Muhammad, Allah Ditta, Muhammad Yousaf, Musaddaq and Yousaf Walana etc. They put him in a wagon (LRJ 578) and took him to the residence of the district nazim (nazim camp office), he added in the FIR.

Yasin said that somebody informed the city mobile police of the matter, who reached the spot and recovered him from the custody of the accused party. He also claimed that the police, after a scuffle with the accused, arrested the people involved in his abduction.

The complainant said the accused party was hurling life threats on him after he brought the rape of his sister to the courts. Later, the complainant was produced in the court of Magistrate/Civil Judge Shahzad Aslam, where he recorded his statement under section 164. On the direction of the court, the complainant was handed over to his relatives with an assurance by the police that he would be protected.
