ISLAMABAD- Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) under its industry standardisation project has signed up 55 local software companies to help them achieve ISO 9001 certification.

This programme was launched to help 80 software companies to achieve ISO 9001 certification. Ten software companies are likely to achieve this valuable certification by December this year.

PSEB, the apex body for the promotion of software exports is bearing a major portion of the financial cost needed to attained the ISO 9001 certification. An average increase of 20 percent is expected in annual exports of software houses that achieve the said standard.

The objective is to promote importance of standardisation and quality consciousness in local software industry that would greatly enhance their export potential. The quality has become a slogan in present-day business world and certification will escort organisations to business distinction in the tough and aggressive global market.

ISO certification provides a company the competitive advantage in the global market place especially more and more countries are assuming ISO standards as the benchmark to be followed. ISO standards have emerged as the required standards to assess the capability and to meet customer requirements and address customer satisfaction.
