50,000 faulty telephone lines

Karachi:The Telephones Subscribers Action Committee (TSAC) has expressed concern over faulty lines, saying that about 50,000 telephone lines are out of order in the metropolis.

The TSAC said in a press release on Sunday that the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) media coordinator was sending bogus figures to the PTCL president regarding the faults and protecting incompetent and corrupt officers by saying that faults were being erected by general managers and divisional engineers.

“The PTCL media person accuses the city government of these faulty lines, saying that telephones are out of order owing to development works in the city, but the TSAC believes that it was happening due to the negligence of regional and divisional officers,” it said.
