50 PTV channels by November
ISLAMABAD – The Managing Director of Pakistan Television Akhtar Waqar Azeem said that they would start PTV Direct to Home (DTH) from November 26 Fifty channels will be broadcast in first phase.
He said that nine parties were interested in PTV DTH but it had scrutinised three. He said that they would hold meetings with these three parties on Aug 13. He said that the decision in this regard would be presented in the meeting of Board of Directors of Pakistan Television Foundation, chaired by Syed Anwar Mahmood on August 21 and the board of directors would give the final approval.
He said that these channels would include PTV Gold, PTV Sports, PTV Islamic and others. He said that the agreement with the companies would be for five years. He said that 51 percent of the profit would be given to PTV Foundation and 49 percent to the company.
