Sindh govt keen to develop IT sector

KARACHI – Provincial Minister for Information Technology Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that the government is keen to make Sindh a model province by large scale development in IT sector.

He said the youths of Sindh would be provided latest IT education so that they could compete internationally. He said this while speaking on the occasion of inauguration of 2nd Free IT Computer Awareness Centre in Pak Colony in Karachi on August 8.

Such type of centres are being set up in different parts of Sindh by IT Department, Sindh in collaboration with private sector to provide free of cost IT education and internet facility to the poor youths of the province. Mustafa Kamal said that the Government is taking revolutionary steps for developing IT sector in Sindh.

He said a plan is under consideration to provide jobs to graduate jobless youths in IT sector which will be implemented soon. Later, the Minister accompanied by Additional Secretary Doctor A.D. Sagna Gee visited Expo Centre and reviewed arrangement for holding ITCN Asia 2004. He hoped that the exhibition will help boost IT related activities in Pakistan.
