21 additional judges take oath
LAHORE: The newly-appointed 21 additional judges of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday took oath of their offices.
LHC Chief Justice Khwaja Muhammad Sharif administered oath to these additional judges at a ceremony held at the Punjab Judicial Academy attended by LHC judges, law officers, officials, bar representatives, senior lawyers and families of the new judges.
Those who took oath are Justices Mian Shahid Iqbal, Mamoon Rashid Sheikh, Shaukat Umar Pirzada, Waqar Hassan Mir, Yawar Ali Khan, Muhammad Khalid Mahmood, Chaudhry Shahid Saeed, M. Anwar Bhour, Ijaz Ahmad, Sardar Muhammad Shamim Khan, Hassan Raza Pasha, Syed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi, Muhammad Anwar-ul-Haq, Muhammad Qasim Khan, Shahid Hameed Dar, Ch. Muhammad Tariq, Mazhar Iqbal Sidhu, Rauf Ahmad Sheikh, Sheikh Ahmad Farooq, Muhammad Naseem Akhtar and Syed Akhlaq Ahmad.
However, the 22nd appointee, Farrukh Ifran Khan, could not take oath as he was out of the country. He will take oath on Saturday (today).
