Supreme Court seeks report on YouTube blockage
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has asked the attorney general to present report within two days about measures taken by the government to stop operation of ‘YouTube’ in Pakistan. ‘YouTube.com’ contains the blasphemous movie, which incited the emotions of Pakistanis and the Muslims all over the world.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the suo moto case against the release of inflammatory movie, ‘Innocence of Muslims’. Subsequently, the Supreme Court issued orders to Attorney General Irfan Qadir to update the court about the blockage of the website that contained the controversial movie.
