Rangers harass “The News reporters”

KARACHI- Two Rangers officials in civics snatched notes and other belongings from the chief reporter of The News Zarar Khan after the proceedings of the plane conspiracy case at the Anti-Terrorism Court-1 in Clifton.

The Rangers were insisting that he should return the notes passed on by Nawaz Sharif while Zarar Khan was not in possession of the said notes.

Subsequently, the entire press corps went upstairs to lodge protest with the advocate general Sindh and registrar of the ATCS. A prominent member of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, Hina Jilani, present in the AG office, was informed about the occurrence. She was also informed that Zarar Khan and other journalists were beaten up by the police outside ATC premises at Maulvi Tameezuddin Khan Road on Nawaz Sharif’s first appearance and it was since then that Zarar was suffering from cervical spine problem.

However, on the intervention of the ATC registrar and Colonel Iftikhar of Judge Advocate General branch of Pakistan Army the Rangers officials returned the journalist’s belongings.
