Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) excellence awards ceremony held

PESHAWAR- Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) Excellence Award distribution ceremony was held at Sahibzada Abdul Qayyum Auditorium Radio Peshawar Centre.

At the ceremony, regional awards were given on best performance during the year 1992-2000 in different disciplines to artists hailing from Peshawar, D.1.Khan, Abbotabad and Chitral Radio.

Federal Secretary Information and Media Development, Syed Anwar Mehmood, Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation, Saleem Gul Sheikh, Provincial Minister, Aminullah Khan and Inspector General Police NWFP, Muhammad Saeed Khan gave awards.

The first Station Director of Radio Peshawar before Partition and former NWFP Governor, Muhammad Aslam Khan Khattak specially attended the ceremony. In his message read out on the occasion, the NWFP Governor Lt. Gen. (R), Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah lauded the role of Radio Pakistan in safeguarding the ideological frontiers of the country. The message added that the award giving to artists of Radio Pakistan would further encourage their performance and help in making the programmes more attractive and effective.
