Security plan for newspapers outlined

ISLAMABAD- The task force on security of newspapers offices has drawn broad outlines of a security plan, it held its first meeting under the chairmanship of Security Interior, Hasan Raza Pasha. The meeting after detailed discussion drew broad outlines of a security plan for the purpose. It aims at providing training facilities to the security guards and other personnel involved in the exercise. It would also provide standard operating procedures for the coordination between administration of a newspaper and related government agencies.

The purchase, installation and operation of modern technical equipments as a part of the plan were also discussed. The meeting identified various areas, which would be specifically focussed to provide necessary security. The use of walk-through gates, hands, scanners, metal, detectors, bomb disposal instruments, private security guards and deployment of police officials were recommended for different premises according to their size and nature.

Principal Information Officer, Ashfaq Ahmad Gondal, representatives of APNS and CPNE, Jamil Athar and Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami, and those of other concerned agencies attended the meeting.
