Zardari resents ban on journalists to cover his trial

ATTOCK- The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and spouse of Benazir Bhutto, Asif Ali Zardari, criticised the administration of Attock Fort for banning admission of journalists in court. He was talking to PPP workers after hearing in assets reference against him in Attock Fort. He referred to the government claim that press was free and access to information would be provided to everyone and said that banning of journalists to cover an open trial showed its ill intentions. He said such a ban was illegal and unconstitutional. Asif Zardari said the nation would reject any election without Benazir Bhutto or Nawaz Sharif. If, according to the government, they do not have any vote bank why was the government trying to keep them out of the elections, he added. Criticizing the baton-charge and arrest of more then 300 workers and leaders of the PPP in Karachi Asif Zardari said the government is protecting small parties and trying to suppress the big one.
