WorldTel demands equal opportunities for promoting it

KARACHI- The Chairman of the WorldTel Meca, a local affiliate of World Inc. Canada’s ISP, Nasir Ali Shah Bukhari has said that government should provide level playing field for the Internet companies if it really wanted to promote IT.

Nasir Bukhari said that officials at the PTCL and the PTA are creating immense difficulties for the ISPS, adding that this sort of attitude could badly hamper the growth of IT.

He said that it was high time that government took bold steps in providing all the necessary infrastructure to the IT companies and any slackness in this regard on the part of government would cost heavily to the country.

At WorldTel Meca, he said that his company had entered in the field of IT sector with a view to providing education to the people of this country. He said his company rose from Rs 100 million to Rs 150 million due to aggressive policies adopted by the company.

In this regard, he said he could not ignore the role played by their re-sellers in selling Internet hours to the consumers. The company realising the need of Internet, has introduced hourly package for Internet users under its product “FAST” launched in May 2000.The firm also planned to offer services in more cities in addition to expanding its operations in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.

WorldTel is offering a single source solution with more than range of their increasing complex data and telecommunications needs with more than six thousands sign-ups, 100 resellers outlets and 20 sales executive in a period of six month.

Chief Operating Officer, WorldTel Meca, Nadir Shah speaking on the occasion said that the company was providing facilities to re-sellers. He expressed the hope that re-sellers would also play a vital role in further boosting the business of the company.
