Work pressure in journalism is a cause of psychological confusion

Pakistan Press Foundation

It is not easy to do journalism in Pakistan due to low salaries, incomplete facilities, lack of training, threats, and pressure after reporting the news.

There must be passion in it. There must be a passion for heartbreaking events, hard times, and hardships. Otherwise, the people associated with journalism become mentally confused; unfortunately, they don’t even realize they are. By describing the problems of others, they become victims of problems.

Health experts say that journalists suffer from mental confusion due to unfavorable conditions. Journalists must be aware of their mental health; ignorance makes them vulnerable to complex diseases.

A journalist suffering from depression due to work pressure and threats to work says that he has been fond of working in media since childhood. Then fate helped me one day, and I started working as a cameraman on a private TV channel. I have been associated with the cameraman field for a long time.   I was covering various events, and the work was going on, but I was not getting satisfaction; there was always a voice of incompleteness coming from inside. Then, I told a friend I wanted to become a reporter. He said that if you are only a graduate, having an M in Generalism would be necessary, so you will have to do it. Then, I was admitted to M. Generalism, continued working as a cameraman, and continued studying. Then, one day, I became an M. General and started reporting regularly.  I have been reporting for all major organizations, including Geo TV. These days, I am the Deputy Bureau Chief in Bol TV. The work of news is full of pressure, strong nerves, confidence, and being ready to work in all problematic situations. I have been bearing all this pressure, but   I had a heart attack in the past few days due to overwork, carelessness, or not taking time for myself. Now, I am slowly recovering. Only Bol TV Deputy Bureau Chief Asim Farooq Bhatti. No, they have suffered from this deadly disease. Earlier, We News Director News Rehan Ahmed had a heart attack in Islamabad, ABN Director News Mohsin Nawaz had a heart attack, and Executive Producer AROY Aamir Shaikh also had a heart attack. In addition, people working in the newsroom are exposed to the news of diabetes and high blood pressure daily.
