Woman seeks justice, protection
CHAKWAL, June 3: A woman has sought justice and state protection as she is being threatened by the relatives of her husband who allegedly murdered him to grab property.
Talking to journalists here on Sunday, Nargis Sultana said she was severely beaten up by six of the relatives of her husband and forced to parade half naked in the streets of Padshan village.
According to her, the shameful incident took place when a local court exonerated her from the charges of killing her husband – Abdul Qayyum – by giving her benefit of doubt.
Ms Sultana claimed that the relatives of her husband killed Mr Qayyum to claim his property and later falsely implicated her in the murder.
The victim told the press that a complaint was lodged with the Dhudial police against the six accused but no action had been taken so far. She said that she had also been deprived of her children and the accused forced her to leave the village.
