Weekly K-2 declaration restored

GILGIT- The declaration of Weekly K-2, Gilgit Baltistan, was restored on Friday, after cancellation of its declaration by local Deputy Commissioner in August 2000. K-2 banned for almost an eleven-month period for reportedly carrying some “objectionable material” in its previous editions.

In a board and philosophically worded editorial on Friday, the editor of Weekly K-2 enumerated the ordeal it went through during the eleven month period and also it had a mixed version of thanks and criticism for friends and foes who remained witnesses to the situation.

It, however, thanked whole-heartedly all the international, local and national journalists bodies that played their active role during the crisis and special mention was made of Weekly Wadi (Gilgit), Bade Shumal (Skardu), The Nation, Islamabad Monthly Herald, Karachi, The News, Lahore, Gilgit Press Club, Gilgit Union of Journalists, Karachi Press Club and Rawalpindi Press Club.
