Warid Telecom joins hands with Chimera

ISLAMABAD, June 29 2006: Warid Telecom has joined hands with Chimera to launch a special promotion to offer popular mobile phones to new subscribers. These sets are offered free of cost with Warid postpaid connections and at very low prices with prepaid connections bought from Chimera outlets, says a press release. Customers buying Warid Telecom’s Zahi postpaid connection can get a free-of-cost mobile set by paying nine months’ line rent in advance. Zahi postpaid customers can select their favorite handset from selected models of Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung, and Motorola.

Similarly, Warid Telecom’s Zem prepaid connection is available with Nokia 1100 for Rs. 2,745 only or Motorola C113 for Rs. 1,845. In addition to discounted handset, customers will also get free airtime of Rs. 150 and a free scratch card worth Rs. 100 with every new SIM. The deal signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Hamid Farooq, CEO Warid Telecom,Amir Khan, CEO Chimera, and Ms. Zoha Imam, GM Corporate and Affinity Marketing Warid Telecom. Hamid Farooq said “Warid is living up to its reputation of listening to its customers and designing products that suit their needs and lifestyles.

” Mr. Amir Khan termed the deal as innovative new idea in telecom sector. “We are building on our existing affinity partnership with Warid to bring something new to the Pakistani Market. We expect this partnership to deliver significant growth over the next 4 months.” Ms. Zoha Imam said “This partnership is a perfect fit for customers who want a good handset to go with their Warid connections. We are very excited to be the first operator to launch this sort of promotion and we are sure it will be extremely popular.”

Chimera with its motto “Connect the unconnected”, will be providing these brand new handsets with full service warranties of the manufacturers. The company has an extensive nationwide network of BUZZ outlets and authorized dealers who will be offering these bundled packages.
