VoA to air current affairs programme
LAHORE: Voice of America is launching an hour-long news and current affairs programme on Monday to be broadcasted from 8 to 9pm on VoA’s Urdu service which is aired on medium wave 972 and 1539 kilohertz.
Murtaza Solangi will be hosting the programme from Washington studios. He will also invite toll-free phone calls from Pakistan. Callers will be able to engage newsmakers and give their comments on the subjects discussed.
The toll-free number in Pakistan is 0800-777-89. The programme is going on air just three days before former prime minister Benazir Bhutto’s scheduled return to Pakistan.
