Violation of human rights

Sir: The Central Jail of Hyderabad became a battlefield on March 15. Pir Shabbir Jan Sarhandi, who took charge on March 11, replaced Superintendent Younus Masih. Since then, a tug of war began between the prisoners and jailers. The prisoners had been facing a shortage of gas, electricity and water for two days, which provoked them to protest against the jail administration. The police in turn opened fire and tear gas at the rioting inmates and killed seven prisoners and injured 40. The amenities provided to prisoners according to the law of the land are medical facilities but contrary to this, they are being injured and killed. What the police did is against human rights and they should be punished severely.
