Veteran Journalist Syed Haider Taqi Passes Away
Syed Haider Taqi, esteemed journalist and in-charge of Daily Jang’s editorial page, passed away in Karachi on April 21 following a prolonged illness.
Taqi hailed from a renowned family deeply rooted in intellectual, literary, and journalistic pursuits. His father, Syed Muhammad Taqi, served as a distinguished philosopher and former editor of Daily Jang. His uncles, Raees Amrohvi and Jaun Elia, were celebrated poets and columnists.
Syed Haider Taqi was widely admired for his sharp wit and insightful commentary. His funeral prayer was held on April 22 at 1:30 pm in Defence Phase IV Imambargah Yasrab, followed by his burial at the Defence Phase VIII graveyard. He is survived by his wife, a son, and two daughters.
