Varsities asked to disclose 2% minority quota on websites
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Commission (KPIC) has said that all public sector universities in the province should disclose the implementation of the 2% admission quota for ethnic minorities on their respective websites.
This information falls under Section 5 of the KP RTI Act, 2013, which pertains to the publication and availability of records.
Syed Saadat Jahan, deputy director of communication at the KPIC, said: “The KP government approved a 2% admission quota for minority candidates in all public sector universities of KP in May 2021.”
The statement was made during a consultation titled “Progress on 2% Admission Quota for Minorities in Education”, organised in collaboration with the National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR) and the non-governmental organisation Blue Veins.
