Two IT educational channels to be launched
ISLAMABAD, July 26 2005: The government has decided to launch two IT educational channels for the promotion of information technology in the country. “The channels will be on air in the mid of July next year and will start its test transmission from Lahore in next couple of months.
The Virtual University has given the task to air the IT-based transmission,” an official in the information technology ministry told Business Recorder here on July 25.
The official said the new TV setup would be named as Virtual Television Network comprising two digital television channels, VTV1 and VTV2.
In this regard, he said the information technology ministry has asked the management of the Virtual University to design programmes in an interesting manner to attract and facilitate viewers.
