Tribute paid to late Moin Akhter

KARACHI: A condolence reference was organised by the Karachi Press Club (KPC) here on Friday at its premises to pay a tribute to late legend Moin Akhter.

Speaking on the occasion, Mustafa Qureshi, a senior artist, said: “He does not call Moin Akhter as a comedian because he was not only a complete actor but also a graceful and great human being.

He said Akhtar was applauded by the government and awarded the Pride of Performance award while the appreciation of people towards him was marvelous. He was of the view that words were insufficient to express the facts and emotions about the personality of Akhter.

Expressing his views about Akhter, his close friend and director by profession Iqbal Latif said that he considered the friendship of Akhter as a blessing of Allah Almighty. He said that the demise of the legend was a shock not for him but also for thousands of his fans.

Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi President Ahmed Shah, actress Shahnaz Siddiqui and Anwar Ali Romi also paid tribute to Akhter. At the conclusion of the ceremony, KPC President Tahir Hassan Khan presented a memorial shield to AkhterÂ’s son Mansoor Akhtar.
