Sindhi author stages demo at LPC
LARKANA: A prominent writer and intellectual staged demo outside the Larkana Press Club (LPC) here on Sunday demanding that the book he has written should be published.
Poverty stricken writer Ghulam Raza Memon told media men that he had written a book titled ‘Sooli Chanrhio Saach’ in Sindhi. It took him three years to complete the book but he was unable to publish it due to poverty. He informed that he had approached several ministers, MNAs, MPAs and other notables, including Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmad Khuhro, but he received no help from them.
He appealed to President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and also philanthropists to help in the publication of his book. Meanwhile, Sindhi Adabi Sangat (SAS) Larkana chapter celebrated the 42nd birth day of poet Saeed Memon here at the Municipal High School Larkana. Several intellectuals, writers, civil society representatives lauded the literary services of poet. They celebrated the birthday with a cake cutting ceremony.
