Sahiwal: Naeem Sadiq, a prominent Right to Information (RTI) activist, has expressed his appreciation for the commendable performance of the Sindh Information Commission in fostering transparency among reluctant public bodies.

In a letter addressed to the Sindh Information Commission, Sadiq extended his gratitude, acknowledging the Commission’s efforts and support in compelling traditionally unresponsive public bodies to provide requested information.

Sadiq reported that he successfully received information from several entities, including KWSB, Sindh Solid Waste Management Company, Sindh Home Department, SEPA, and Sindh Lahore Department. He specifically requested the Commission to close the associated complaints, expressing satisfaction with the information provided.

While praising the Commission’s achievements, Sadiq also offered valuable suggestions. He emphasized that complaints should only be closed after confirming the adequacy and correctness of the information provided by the appellant. Additionally, he recommended swift action on appeal numbers following a complaint made to the Sindh Information Commission.

Known for his persistent advocacy on behalf of janitorial staff and security guards, particularly in relation to minimum wages, Sadiq utilizes right to information laws to access details about wages paid by private companies and public bodies to these essential workers.
