Sindh Assembly media room renovated

At least seven latest flat screen computers along with computer tables, chairs, UPS and other accessories have been provided at the newly renovated media room at the Sindh Assembly building by the USAID.

During a visit to the assembly’s media room, it was found that the computers did not have Internet connection on the first day, however, the officials present there apprised that the same would be provided in due course of time.

Appreciating the gesture of US government the media persons have asked the PPP legislators to depute some computer experts for maintaining these equipment.

This media room used to be enough for journalists but when TV channels entered the field this facility could not cope up with the growing number of media persons covering the assembly proceedings.

Some of the journalists have suggested to the authorities concerned that an official camera be placed for the live coverage of Sindh Assembly proceedings as being done the world over, besides the proceedings should also be covered through Internet for overseas Pakistanis.

The media persons have also suggested the PPP legislators that some kind of code of conduct be introduced for the coverage by electronic and print media, besides increasing the space of press gallery.
