Sindh administrators’ appointment notified

KARACHI – The Sindh government on Friday notified the appointment of administrators in the Sindh province. The newly appointed administrators of 23 districts of the province will take oath on Monday.

The DCOs will serve as administrators of their respective districts following the dissolution of the local government system in the province.

According to the notification, former Local Government Secretary Lala Fazlur Rehman has been appointed as the administrator of Karachi while Aftab Khatri of Hyderabad.

DCO Karachi Javed Hanif has been removed from his slot and directed to report to S&DG. However, DCOs of the remaining districts of the province have been appointed as administrators of their districts, where they were already serving.

Samiuddin Siddiqui appointed as the administrator of Jamshoro, Ghulam Abbas Baloch of Khairpur, Rasoul Buksh Rameejo of Sanghar, Manzoor Ali Sheikh of Thatta, Kazim Hussain Jaoti of Jacobabad, Zulfiqar Ali Shah of Noushero Feroz, Dr Saeed Ahmed Mango of Shikarpur, Jamal Mustafa Syed of Benazirabad (Nawabshah), Mohammad Iqbal Memon of Dadu, Agha Wasif Abbas of Badin, Abdul Majeed Pathan of Sukkur, Ghulam Hussain Memon of Mirpurkhas, Syed Hassan Naqvi of Larkana, Shakeeluz Zaman of District Tharparkar, Saqib Ahmed of Matiari, Mohammad Farooq Leghari of Tando Mohammad Khan, Tariq Ahmed Memon of Tando Allahyar, Abdul Aziz Uqaily of Ghotki, Mohammad Yasin Sher of Shahdatkot, Abid Ali Shah of Kandhkot & Kashmore and Ghulam Akbar Leghari of Umerkot.

According to sources, the Additional District Officer Revenue will take charge of administrators at Gadap, Kemari, Bin Qasim and Lyari towns, while the Town Municipal Officers will be appointed as the town administrators in the remaining 14 towns of Karachi city. However the TMO’s/Tehsil Officers will be appointed as the administrators in the Towns and Tehsils of the Sindh province.

It may be noted here that the Pakistan People’s Party led Sindh government has accommodated their coalition partners MQM, PML-F, and NPP in the appointment of administrators in the province.
