Significance of human rights’ education stressed
Karachi–Human Rights Education and its effectiveness is a tool for building societies and that training workshops on different human rights issues are of vital importance for capacity building of police personnel, FIA and local administration.
Consultant on Planning, Policy, Public Relations and Home Affairs, Sharafuddin Memon, observed this while speaking at a training workshop for Police and FIA Personnel on Human Rights, Refugees Laws and Foreigners Act, 1946.
A statement on Friday said that the workshop was attended by 50 police and FIA officials from Karachi and interior Sindh.
It said that the training workshop was organised by Society for Human Rights and Prisoners Aid (SHARP) at a hotel here.
Sharfuddin Memon said that innovative programmes provide frontline Human Rights defenders and educators, government officials including Police and Law Enforcement Agencies with the knowledge.
Skills and attitudes required to empower themselves and their communities and to find the most effective strategies to combat inequality, exclusion and other forms of human rights.
