Siddique Jan of BOL News says there’s a plan to file FIR against him
ISLAMABAD—BOL News Bureau Chief Siddique Jan claims that an official in authority has directed the Islamabad Police to lodge an FIR against him.
The pro-PTI Jan, who recently joined BOL, said on Twitter that at least three of his sources had told him about this plan.
He said he had been advised to move to Lahore or Peshawar, where PTI is in power, to avoid arrest. However, he believes it would be better for him to stay in Islamabad and face this “imported government.”
The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) said it would defend press freedom at all costs as the PDM government’s crackdown on journalists and media houses critical of its policies continued.
