Shahbaz lauds role of electronic media
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the role of the media is of great importance in the society. Therefore, the media should raise voice in favour of the deprived and oppressed people.
He was addressing the oath-taking ceremony of newly- elected office-bearers of the Electronic Media Reporters Association and Electronic Media News Cameramen Association at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Wednesday. He said that the electronic media had played an important role and highlighted the sad incident that took place during the by-elections in Sindh.
He also announced convening a meeting in the next week for resolution of the problems of the people associated with the electronic media and assured them that the Punjab government would take all steps for the welfare of these people.
Earlier, he administered oath to the newly-elected office-bearers of the Electronic Media Reporters Association and Electronic Media News Cameramen Association. EMRA President Tanvir Shahzad and Electronic Media News Cameramen Association President Waheed Butt also addressed the function.
