Senior journalist passes away

PESHAWAR, August 18 2006: Senior Journalist and former Bureau Chief of PPI Mansoor Ahmad died of cardiac attack this morning. He was 55. The deceased was an experienced journalist who worked with the Daily Frontier Post Peshawar, Daily Khyber Mail, Daily Statesman and Daily Mashriq Peshawar. At present he was working in the media cell of the Governor Secretariat.

His death created a vacuum in the field of journalism in the NWFP because he lived an ebullient and lively life. He was the son of late Malik Sher Ahmad, brother of Zahoor Ahmad, Masood Ahmad, Zubair Ahmad and Naser Ahmad. He was the maternal uncle of Sardar Khyzer Hayat Advocate. His Namaz e Janaza was offered this afternoon at his residence in Zaryab Colony, opposite Mohmand Maina. His Qul would be held at his residence on Saturday, August 19.
