SC orders probe into Karo Kari incident
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has ordered Inspector General Police Sindh to hold inquiry into an alleged incident of Karo Kari in village Lal Mashaikh within the jurisdiction of P.S. Sukkur.
One Hassan Hussain Qazi had made an application with the court to the effect that Mohammad Azim Qazi, Ghulam Murtaza alias Nazir, Ahmad Qazi, Raja Qazi and Bashir Ahmad Qazi have killed Rehana Qazi on the pretext of Karo Kari. Advocate General Sindh placed before the court a report of District Police Officer (DPO) Sukkur on Thursday which stated that Rehana Qazi died in accidental fire by one of the accused. The court as well as the advocate general, did not buy the report of DPO and ordered the IG Sindh to conduct an independent investigation of the incident and register the case in accordance with law.
