Sami Ibrahim under fire for a derogatory comment

Pakistan Press Foundation

ISLAMABAD—Journalist Sami Ibrahim has been criticized on social media for a derogatory comment about Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

In a video, Sami makes fun of efforts to disqualify the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan. However, he makes a derogatory comment about the foreign minister.

Journalist Hasan Khan reacted angrily, using abusive words about Sami in his tweet. Without naming anybody, he castigated some journalists’ leaders for condemning the alleged attempt to pick up Sami recently, adding he was only flirting with a transgender person that went wrong.

Another Twitter user, AK termed Sami “a journalist of gutter,” terming Sami’s video unacceptable and unjustifiable.

Another user maintained that this video was a cheap effort to get the sympathies of PTI supporters, while others termed Sami an American national “teaching Pakistanis patriotism.”

Others regretted that the journalists came down to this level where they gave up all ethical standards and presented themselves as indecent character.

Sami is the president and managing director of BOL News Network.
