Role of media vital in promoting Sindhi language
KARACHI – The Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism, Basheer Ahmed Kaimkhani, has vowed to promote Sindhi language and underlined the role of media in this regard.
Speaking at a seminar on Importance and development of Sindhi language, organized by Sindhi Language Authority at Hindu Gymkhana, he said that many proposals were being considered by the provincial government with regard to promote Sindhi language.
Speaking at the seminar Humera Alwani, the member Sindh Assembly said, “we are proud of Sindhi language and we should be sincere to it’s promotion and development”.
Other participants on the occasion said that Sindhi language was considered to be among 20 biggest languages of the world and urged upon the people to not use it language for creating hatred and misunderstanding among the people.
They said that poverty was also one of the hindrances in it’s progress and termed economical stability as an important factor in promoting any language in the world.
They emphasised the need for convening the Sindhi language software development conference and introducing it as an official language in the province.
Those spoke on the occasion included Sindh Information Secretary Mehtab Akbar Rasheedi, the Chairman of Sindhi Language Authority Dr Qasim Baghiyo and others.
