Role of media
Role of media is very important in the present time because it is a big source of information and entertainment. It creates awareness among people to openly express their views.
It has been noticed that the media also has created bad and good images of some events. In Pakistan, it has two channels — pro-government and anti-government. Pro-government channel talks in favor of government and discourage the anti- government voice, whereas the anti-government channels present a different picture to the public.
In Pakistan, media has to acquire the freedom to raise voice for the rights of people. Furthermore, media has not been encouraged by the government, although media is always in need of it. No doubt media should depict true picture of our society, either itÂ’s in favor of government or not.
The government should also tolerate the criticism of media in a positive manner, because in civilized societies, the media has been acting as ears and eyes of the government.
