Rally against journalist killing

JACOBABAD- The member of Sindh Journalists Organization (SJO) brought out a rally on October 27, 2002 to condemned the brutal killing of Shahid Soomro, Kandhkot based journalist.

The speakers, Shamim Shamsi, Iqbal Mallah, Jai Prakash, Ali Hasan, Ayub Tareen, Mahesh Kumar, Niza Panhwar, and Jan Odho, demanded of the Sindh Government to take notice of the situation and punish the culprits involved.

They said that they were not against the Bijaranis but wanted to get punish the persons involved in this brutal murder. The speakers flayed the facilities provided to the involved persons by the administration and they belonged the influential families and related to newly elected members of the assembly.

The journalists staged a sit-in in front of Kandhkot police station and called on TPO Kandhkot not to the side of culprits. They offered fateha at the grave of Shahid Soomro and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family.
