PTCL offers broadband services to all customers

KARACHI: Keeping in view the growing demand, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has decided to extend its broadband services to all the customers in the country.

According to an official statement issued on Monday, the PTCL management had asked its professionals to enhance their network installation capacity, after sales and support services and provide quality service. The PTCL is developing this product to meet the growing demand of customers belonging to different sectors of the economy.

“The market size is huge which is available to the company and it’s not difficult for us to net 2.5 million customers by expanding reliable broadband services across the country in the near future, and demand for broadband in the country is enormous and the company has the ability to meet the growing needs of each sector of the economy as well as each household,” PTCL President, Walid Irshad pointed out in a meeting with the professional staff of telecom giant.

He congratulated the professionals of the company who were given the tasked to expand the network and broadband services across the country and announced special incentives for the professionals of the company who would work hard in meeting the desired broadband expansion targets in the country. He said that PTCL had already achieved its broadband services expansion target of 25,000 and target of 50,000 till the end of December 2007 would be achieved with the increased confidence of customers.

“PTCL is now the leader in consumer broadband in Pakistan, leading the country into the 21st century, the service has been launched initially in Islamabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Quetta, Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Sheikupura and Hub,” Irshad noted.

One year back the company had no revenue from broadband services, but due to the untiring efforts of the PTCL management and professionals some revenue has started flowing in the from this source. Since the privatisation, the new PTCL management has introduced many new services to its customers, invested heavily in improving infrastructure and has brought down local and international calling rates.
