Protest against journalists killing

MULTAN- Member of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), Bodies of Multan Union of Journalists and Multan Press Club have protested on the killings of three journalists and two cameramen and injuring several others in Baghdad in US raids.

“It is a deliberate bombing on the hotel where the newsmen were staying because they were despatching true stories of the war in Baghdad which was unacceptable to US and its allies,” said Abdul Sattar Qamar, ex-assistant secretary general of PFUJ.

“Apology from the US military officials is mere an eye-wash and it has been proved that attackers deliberately hit the hotel. There is no truth in the claim of US forces that one of their tanks had fired on the hotel after taking incoming sniper and rocket fire,” said Rao Shamim Asghar, President of Multan Press Club. Local journalists and photographers wore black armbands to mourn the death of five journalists.
