Protest against journalist’s arrest
The protesters blocked traffic outside the press club here and torched copies of the said daily. Some policemen were wearing uniforms while the rest of them were in planclothes who reportedly misbehaved with Mr Hashmi and his subordinates, said a political activist who was in Jammu Kashmir’s office at that time.The Islamabad police had immediately taken him to the federal capital. “We condemn this incident” said Roshan Mugal, president elect of the press club. Outgoing president and Central Union of Journalists leader Wahid Iqbal Butt demanded immediate release of Mr. Hashmi and called upon the journalist community in Azad Kashmir to observe a b “black day” on Monday against the incident.
