Producer, reporter of independent television channel injured in mortar shell in Swat, Pakistan

A producer and a reporter working for “Aaj TV”, an independent television network received shrapnel injuries on October 28 when a rocket landed close to where they were filming the clashes between Pakistan’s security forces and religious militants, near the town of Mingora, Swat in North West Frontier Province. Ten militants were killed and thirty five people, including paramilitary soldiers, were injured in the fighting.

Producer Raza Mehmood Agha had to be operated upon for shrapnel injuries to his hand and leg. The flesh from his right arm and right leg was torn off and he remains hospitalized. Reporter Khalid Jameel received treatment for injuries to his legs and has been released from hospital.
